Choosing #UnitedThroughLove

Happy Fall! As we begin the final quarter of our #UnitedThroughLove theme – Engaging chosen family, we invite you to think about your chosen family. Who are the people in your life who you may not necessarily be related to, but you consider family? In what ways do you support one another? What do healthy relationships look like to you?

Thank You for Joining Us on 9/9

Thank you to everyone who made our 2022 Anniversary Gala: #UnitedThroughLove such a successful benefit event! We raised over $300,000 in unrestricted funds. Your generosity provides CPAF with the flexibility to meet the greatest needs in supporting survivors. Without you, we would not be able to continue providing critical services that break the cycle of violence.

We hope you’ll enjoy this video recap from our photographer and videographer Aaron Arteaga Studio.

The Impact of Your Donation

As we all continue to feel the effects of inflation and the higher costs of living, CPAF’s families face an additional barrier of fleeing violence while establishing independent lives. Your gift of unrestricted funds enables CPAF to continue working toward its vision of ending all forms of violence, while staying flexible and resilient in these uncertain times. Your donations go toward covering the deposit to move a survivor and her children into their own apartment and buy basic furnishings. Your contributions support internet access, enabling survivors to connect with job and community resources and children to keep up with their homework. Your support enables survivors to put gas in the car, so they can drive their children to school, and expand their employment opportunities. Your gift allows CPAF to make strategic investments where needed most to support survivors. Thank you for helping us create a safe community for every being.

CPAF Launches Volunteer Engagement Program

In September, the Volunteer Program held its first career and professional development learning webinar for CPAF volunteers. Up is Not the Only Way…The Value of Lateral and Horizontal Moves was facilitated by CPAF board member, Sylvia Fong, a global HR executive who most recently led the HR strategy for Kimberly Clark's Asia Pacific region. During the webinar, Sylvia shared her career development journey, inspired the participants to talk about their concerns and difficulties in career advancement, and fostered the discussion of achieving professional growth by applying a more inclusive hybrid model with lateral and horizontal moves and decision-making tools. As part of our volunteer appreciation and engagement, we look forward to hosting more educational and enriching webinars in the future.
